Make sure you also read the comments left on mods to see if many people are reporting the same issue with any mod conflicts or other glitches the mod might have too.

Your best option is to fully read mod descriptions and install one mod at a time to make sure it works in your game with your other mods. If you notice both of them require you to manually tell them what to do half the time anyway, so you can do it all yourself. Remember LOOT and BOSS are only tools and neither program is perfect, so don't just rely on either one. Like stated above you can tell BOSS to sort that ESP file in the new correct place if requirements have changed (as you can do with LOOT too.) This will not be a problem for you unless the mod has some new requirements (most mods do not change requirements with updates) so make sure you read any new notes the mod author adds about those updates.

Older mods that have been updated since the May update will be OK since BOSS will still recognize the ESP file and sort it properly. For brand new mods released since May make sure you read the descriptions to see if they require any special load order and like with LOOT, you can tell BOSS where to put those mods. BOSS has not been updated since May of 2014 however LOOT has not been updated since July 5 of 2014 so there is only 2 months difference so it really is not a big deal right now. I understand why people say to use LOOT since it is a new version of BOSS but only by 2 months. If you have those problems then you can use BOSS as an alterative. Some people have found that LOOT just doesn't work for them it messes up their load orders, doesn't display correctly, or doesn't give you a report at all. That said there would be little left to post about. Other than modding, the problems seem to fall here or hardware/software - for CTDs in general. It would be nice to have a set of links to refer to for the bulk of the questions that seem to repeat themselves. I have a fair amount of knowledge on such, but not sure I can write something soon. I will update the post a bit, to give a better explanation about missing data part.Īlrighty. We could (and maybe should) make similar posts about those, but this forum has peoples who are better qualified to do that than I am. Hardware and software issues would be a problem of their own, I think.

Post was made to reply the standard problems that cause game to crash at spesific time. I will have to see what it is all about and include it here, if it crashes the game directly after Bethesda screen. It was actually new to me and I have only recently paid attention to it. I did leave sound problem away from here. All solutions are actually starting from that assumption. What about hardware/software issues.that could probably take another page or maybe some links, including to Steam support.Ĭrashing after Bethesda screen usually means that parent or master data is missing from the game, or something is interrupting them.
